So this is the first time with a true smartphone and I must say I am rather impressed. It’s actually an understatement because I’ve been glued to my iPhone the whole two weeks I’ve had it. It actually changes the way you live.

For example I used to take some to take some time at work to check emails first thing in the morning. Now I read my emails waiting for my elevator so I save some time at work. And I’ve found some entertaining games that help me with dull and boring moments I have to endure. I am also better connected to my friends and I am now talking more to all of my friends I used to not talk to all that often by using txt applications. Texting is all the more encouraging because there are a lot of applications that let you use data rather than your text plan. I can just reserve 200 txt messages mo they and that would be ample because the rest is done with my data plan. I do have unlimited data plan(lucky me). I use whatsapp and kakao talk and find whatsapp the better of the two but kakao group chatting is fun and it’s free compared to a small price of $0.99 of whatsapp.

There are of course cons of having an iPhone. First of all call quality and reception is not matched with that of what verizon wireless offers. I understand why many people on verizon wireless hold on the thought of getting an iPhone and go the droid way. I debated for a long time myself. The keyboard sucks. Yes you do get used to it but trust me this is not a fun experience. I find myself texting briefer messages. Haha. We will see if I get better at this.

About applications: I know I am late into the game but being the curious kitten I am I have really been exploring a lot of applications and found them very useful. I’ve even purchased some and my favorite purchases include the well known games angry bird, doodle jump, and whatsapp texting application. I bought transworld snow just because I support them. I am a snowboarder to the core !!!! The most doubtful purchase so far is white noise because it was two bucks and I don’t have good use for it so far. I will try when snow season comes because I travel a lot in winter. I don’t mind paying for applications and I probably will not jailbreak my phone mostly because I don’t feel the need to. I appreciate the work people put into development. Maybe it’s easier for me to appreciate because I am a programmer. But most of my purchases were one dollar per application and in span of a month it will be about six or seven bucks on average. And its like getting two cups of coffee a month. I don’t mind paying for them at all. If apps were ten a piece hat would’ve been a different story but I find the prices vey reasonable.

Overall my experience is positive plus. I love the simple design of the phone and available applications. I am typing my first wordpress blog entry using my phone right now. This works for me. I am very happy
