Used 35m back for Diana. I had a full roll of happy accidents- I somehow didn’t have the frame setup correctly so every picture overlapped a little at the edge- And I love it! Enjoy- My happiest accident ever<3 Double click for bigger image So I took some Diana pictures for the first time in a long while – And I am not in LOVE with Diana- I like the soft light vignette effect and I’ve learned that Diana shines when there is a flood of California light – She is not a night girl- But these are some experimental pictures I took with my 120 film at the Lomography store, attending the third Thursday class with Satomi – (Of course, attended with Candice- ) out of 12 I took these are the four that came out eh, OK- The effect is created by putting a swirl of Vaseline on a clear film and facing the camera lens itself- The green lomo dog is my favorite- Enjoy! Sphere: Related ContentI am too lazy to edit and upload GoPro video clips but I can’t say enough how much of a fan we all became after using GoPro this season- So how we got our hands on it goes like this- Nathan, his cousin and Alex went to the SIA show CO in Jan or Feb- Nathan and cousin was there with him too, and he entered a raffle to win a GoPro and won! He gave the prize to Nathan for use for their work and so the experiment started. The biggest advantage about this little device is that it’s very small and light, and has built-in fisheye view for video/pictures, all the while recording crisp HD pictures and video clips. For active sports lovers it’s such a treat to be able to film yourself or your friends in action without lugging around a big and expensive video camera. The battery lasts a pretty long time and even with the highest resolution setting, a 32 GB memory stick is more than enough for a couple of days of shooting. Operation is simple and straightforward. There is no LCD so you can’t play what you recorded or see how your shoots went, but it also means that there is no LCD to break should you hit the camera against something, which happens way too often in our world. It also comes with a waterproof camera case so you can take it swimming, surfing, or wake boarding. What I did in the pictures is this- I set the camera on continuous picture mode (takes one picture every second) and climbed on the rail – Attached to a ski pole, this little gizmo makes everyone happy. Nathan filmed me a lot at Mammoth and he’s truly amazing at shooting snowboarders. I tried to copy him by volunteering to film Nathan and he scoffed at what I did end up filming :< That boy has talent. Maybe instead of hitting all the jumps and things he should go into snow-filming! You can see complete product information at http://www.goprocamera.com/ ! Just had to say how much of a fan we all became. I had a good experience with their warranty department too- The unit Nathan received was defective and within a week they sent a new device over and it’s been working well since that- kudos. Sphere: Related ContentThese are some of the pictures I took at Lomography Gallery Store Workshop last week- Satomi taught us how to use masks to create interesting looks- It’s like analog photoshop, but way cooler and accidental- Haha Sphere: Related ContentI LOVE the last picture- Haha- So Bonobo tells us, there is a hot spring near by the airport that he’s been to- So we decided to go- Julian and his gf guided us – After getting lost on a rocky road, we finally found a nice tub full of algae and other floating stuff. I thought to myself it was pretty gross but then as Julian pointed out, this was no Ritz Carlton Hotel spa- So I just socked and enjoyed the scenery- Nature is so beautiful and wide without limit- And so windy @_@ Sphere: Related ContentAfter sending my mom off to Korea and sobbing like a tokki I am, I chilled at the airport – I got drinks from Starbucks and read ‘Samurai Deeper Kyou’ (Manga) Until my laptop broke on me- (Curse you, Toshiba, I am ordering a Dell Studio 15 for my birthday, and I shall not spend a penny on another Toshiba, ever again) Luckily I didn’t have a lot of time left when my laptop broke so I grabbed a magazine on notebook computers and boarded the flight to Mammoth – (My trip was cheap at the total cost of $122 – Because I booked ahead-)
Shaking like a rattle the plane departed the dusty LA sky- Look here- I don’t usually fly during the day so it was interesting to see LAX from the air-
After about 20 minutes they served beer and wine so I took the opportunity to sip on free booze. And when I was not even done with my wine, they said we were ready to land- And when I looked out the window, everything underneath was covered in snow- I assume it was the Sierra-
After nibbling on some food we headed to watch WCI- This was my third year watching the rail jam at night and it was really cold- Everyone did well and I was surprised how young the crowd got compared to previous years-
We took a good spot but it was very crowded :< And some 7 foot tall guy and his gf stood in front of us blocking everything :< I felt like a midget.
Setup was pretty basic but the middle kink rail seemed to give people a hard time- Personally I think Tyler did really well too but the prize went to Ryan Paul- I am glad he got it because his front flip 180 really made the competition hot and from what I hear more than anyone he seems to need the money ! 10 grand yo! |
